The Water Wych was created over many years to keep the display ponds of the International Hardy Waterlily Collection free from algae. Since that time we have found other uses for the Water Wych including fountains and animal watering troughs.
The Water Wych is a unique unit that once placed into the pond, fountain or trough absorbs all impurities in the water, these also include the impurites that create green water and algae, so it will clear all green water without harm to fish or other inhabitants. In ponds it will also reduce string algae but when used in conjunction with other filters, the Water Wych will then remove the string algae.
In fountains and troughs the Water Wych will also remove the string algae on its own. As it purifies the water there is no tainting to the water taste, so it is ideal for any animal to drink from.
The Water Wych is ideal for freshwater fish including Koi, Goldfish, and Mosquito fish. The natural good insect life is increased due to the improved water quality so the fish have the benefits of having their natural food. Please note Mosquito larvae need semi-stagnant or stagnant water to survive.
